Image critiques will include the usual categories, plus a new Theme category. This months theme is SCARY. Club members can submit up to 3 images. The 3 images can be entered in any category(s). Read MoreOur club's annual picnic takes place on August 20th at the Woodside Village Mobile Home Park Club House. It's located just off Highway 49 at Luther Rd. There is a swimming pool available (bring your suits). There is also a pool table and horseshoes pit. This is also an opportunity for club members to offer up photography items for sale that they no longer wish to haul around in their camera bag.
This event is open to club members, their family and friends. The club will provide a cooked turkey. However, this is a potluck event. Please bring your own sodas, beer, or wine. In addition, club members should sign up to bring an appitizer, or other food item, i.e. salad, dessest, side dish, or main dish.

July's meeting should not be missed. A lot is going on. The results of our Annual Projected Competition will be announced.
This meeting is also an opportunity for club members to enter photos for the Peoples Choice Print Awards. Up to 3 prints can be entered. To be eligable, the print must have been previously entered in one of this years two print critique sessions. Prints will be laid out by category and members attending the meeting will cast a ballot for their favorite 3 prints in each category. Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each of 5 categories.
Also at July's meeting there will be slide show presentations. Members can create a slideshow up to 5 minutes in length. Slideshow presentations should be brought to the meeting on a thumb drive or a CD. Slideshows must be playable on a Windows PC. H.264 or MPEG-2 are encoding formats that work well; both are usually generated as an mpg file type. Other formats are possible (like wmv, MPEG-4) as long as the resulting slideshow can be played on a Windows PC. KEEP IN MIND THAT OUR PROJECTOR HAS A MAXIMUM RESOLUTION OF 1920x1080.

Read MoreJune's club meeting will include a photo critique session of printed photos. Members can bring up to three prints to the meeting. They should be 8x10 inches or larger in size. It is highly recommended that they be matted; framed prints are also also acceptable. Prints can be submitted in any of 5 categories: Open, Travel, Nature, Landscape, and Photo Journalism. The Nature category is only for Wild Nature (domestic nature shots can be submitted in the Open category). The judging will be done by Dean Taylor.

May's club meeting will include a photo critique session. The judge for projected images will be Jeff Burkholder. Jeff is a commercial photographer based in Sacramento. Also at this meeting, Club member Tony Hallas will give a presentation on Photoshop and masking.
